When are tryouts?

Tryouts dates are coming up soon!

What should I bring to tryouts?

You should bring the gear you wear to volleyball! Shoes, Shorts, Kneepads, Armsleeves, T-Shirt, Water Bottle and any else you might need. Also make sure to bring your tryout fee and registration form.

What happens at tryouts?

At tryouts you will be evaluated by a group of coaches. You will be doing a variety of drills and playing games that give coaches an overall view of your abilities.

How many tryout sessions are there?

For each age group, there will be a minimum of 2 tryout sessions. It is advised you try and make each tryout.

Why should I tryout for VVC?

VVC has been a long time volleyball club in the South Vancouver Area, being established back in 1990. We have passionate coaches who live the sport of volleyball and all are now giving back to the volleyball community.

How much will the season cost?

A typical volleyball season will range between $1000 and $1800, which includes jerseys, team gear, tournament registration (which includes BC Provincials, Volleyball BC Tournaments, and other local playdays/tournaments), coaching education and fees, and equipment fees.

Travel and accomodation to any out-of-town tournaments are not included in the team fee.

Teams will be given the option to participate in the National Championship which are held in various locations in Canada but will be an extra cost to the team.

Are coaches certified?

All our head coaches are Trained and Certified by the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and any other certifications required by Volleyball BC or Volleyball Canada. They also follow Volleyball B.C's Coaches' Code of Conduct and have SafeSport training with the Coaching Assosiation of Canada (CAC). All of our staff members and volunteers undergo a Criminal Record Check and Concussion Training.

When and where are practices and games?

Practices are held in the Vancouver area, mostly at David Thompson Secondary School. Practice schedules will be finalized later on. Games are held in tournament format on select weekends by Volleyball BC, or other clubs. There may be opportunities to play other clubs during the week.

How long is the season?

The volleyball season goes from January until Late April or Early May.
